Widbrook Grange Hotel, Bradford on Avon | REVIEW

This year for my friend Sophie and I’s annual ‘let’s visit a Christmas market’ trip we decided that we needed to go back to Bath as it is HANDS DOWN the best one in the UK that we’ve found but instead of the long train journey there and back this year we decided to stay nearby and turn it into a Christmas getaway instead.

I nominated myself for the role of finding somewhere to stay and it didn’t take me long before Widbrook Grange in Bradford on Avon had caught my eye and I knew this is where we were going to stay. With it being only a couple of train stops away from Bath or a quick taxi ride it was the perfect distance for us to be able to enjoy the calm of the local area as well as being a stone’s throw from the buzz of the city.

The minute we arrived it there was ALOT of oohing and ahhing, and it didn’t stop the entire time. The hotel was made up like a festive dream, there was a Christmas tree in every room, a garland wrapped around the banister and all the little sweet trinkets that just completed it all. BUT to top it alllll of the hotel had its very own gin bar where Sophie and I made ourselves quite comfortable on the first night. I thought I was a gin lover but there were names I hadn’t even heard of, it was great!

For food the hotel also has its own restaurant, The Kitchen, or you can enjoy an evening stroll into the town and take your pick of restaurants.

Onto the room and I know 1 photo really isn’t enough but after allll the gin we crashed onto the bed and before we knew it our stuff was everywhere! I had booked us into the Classic Double Room to share which was in an old barn and it was so so lovely and spacious! We had enough room to both spread out and also the bathroom was lush! I don’t think no matter your budget here whether you book our room or the Suite that you won't be disappointed.

I really want to come back again in Spring time with Ryan and show him around, I think he’d love it and hopefully have time to try the restaurant as well as seeing how different the hotel looks without all the Christmas decorations.

So, if you’re after a relaxed holiday in the country or a base for exploring Bath in a cosy rustic but modern hotel then this place has to be the most ideal one.
